It’s no secret, lots of people say they want to lose weight, but they don’t do it.
Well over half our country is overweight and depending on where you look, 40-50% are obese.
A common mistake they make when trying to lose weight is they only choose their goal once.
One day they wake up and say “I’m going to lose 20 pounds.”
They buy new shoes, workout a few times, but quit when the first obstacle shows up.
They lose 1 pound and gain 2.
Here’s the thing –> they only chose the goal one time — Day 1.
They don’t realize that in order to lose the 20 pounds they have to continue to choose the goal.
Day after day. Month after month.
Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow.
There’s no magic to it.
It’s a day to day choice.
When you string together enough days where you choose the goal, you’ll achieve it.
When you stop choosing the goal, you won’t.
It’s really about building ‘Staying Power.’
Get committed to losing those 20 pounds no matter what.
Because I promise you this — Something will get in your way. You will want to quit.
Something so big and real will pop up that will make quitting easy to justify.
Accept that before it happens.
When the obstacle appears, choose your goal again.
And guess what — when you overcome an obstacle, expect another one (maybe even bigger) to appear.
It will, so expect it and be ready to choose your goal again.
This idea of continuing to choose the goal is a game-changer.
Do you want to lose 20 pounds?
Make the decision. Choose.
And when sh*t gets hard, choose again.
The weight loss journey is a series of ‘forks in the road’ — At each fork, you can do 1 of 2 things — Choose the goal or procrastinate.
When you string together a few good weeks of working out, remember, today is a new day and you have to choose your goal again today. Otherwise, you’ll lose your progress.
On the flip side, if you lose your progress and have a few bad weeks — that was yesterday.
Today you have the power to choose again.
Isn’t that great?!
So today, choose your goal and take action.
Choose your goal every day.
Every day you have a clean slate. A blank canvas.
Keep choosing your goal.
1 day at a time.
Enjoy your day and thanks for reading!
